Not every image can spread ideas. It would be dishonest to construct one just to give depth to a photo’s meaning. The fact that in this instance there is no point to be made, though, does not mean that it is pointless to choose a more superficial approach. In the detail of this lightbulb there’s a beauty made by symmetry and mono-colour gradation, in a presence that could easily and consistently be looked at, day after day, without being noticed or aesthetically captured.
