The allure of a slide film is similar to the one of a negative. They mould and cast the images, acting as a thin, ethereal matrix. They are a sort of deformed mirror, that can recreate the perception of a cropped scene playing with dimensions, colours and inversions.

This old slide acts like a looking glass, mirroring itself. The old shop window in the picture actualises a past no longer present. Like the origin of one’s qualms. There is no vanity allowed in a modest family, as there is no path to walk on that allows you to make a living out of it. In this case, the opposite side is the opposition of a possibility.

It is necessary to go through and break the looking glass to find yourself at home in a foreign world where beauty stays still and dominates.
